As a flight instructor, I’ve been using my leather flight board every day for several years now. At first, I had a few doubts—about the practicality of the carabiner attachment, whether the leather would be firm enough for writing, and whether the snap-button closure might get in the way.
I can honestly say that after years of use, those questions have all been answered. The adjustable strap was easy to set once and for all, and the rotating, rounded carabiner attachment is extremely ergonomic and comfortable. It’s also very durable, even with regular wear and tear.
Of course, the leather develops marks over time—but that’s part of its charm, creating a beautiful patina. It remains strong, smooth, and a pleasure to write on. As for the snap-button closure, it’s very practical and never gets in my way.
